Harinam Sankirtan

Krishna and His name are non-different. Lord Krishna has invested all His divine powers in His name. When we chant His name together, it creates unity, joy, and spiritual elevation. This is the essence of Harinam Sankirtan — the congregational chanting of the holy names of the Lord.

Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu emphasized that chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra:
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare,
Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare
is the most effective and simplest path to self-realization in this age. Earlier, mantras were chanted softly, but Lord Chaitanya introduced public, musical, and ecstatic chanting — known as Harinam Sankirtan.

Srila Prabhupada took this divine movement worldwide, filling the streets of cities, towns, and villages with the sweet sound of Krishna's names. Harinam Sankirtan offers everyone — even passersby — a chance to hear and be spiritually uplifted.

Chanting together purifies the heart, removes sinful thoughts, and connects us with each other and Krishna. All Acharyas across Sampradayas have praised this activity as the most effective process of spiritual elevation in Kali Yuga.
