Food for Life – A Mission to Serve
The ‘Food for Life’ program by ISKCON Dwarka is a lifeline for children.
Thousands of children and disadvantaged individuals in Delhi and surrounding regions receive nutritious meals daily through this initiative. More than 5 crore people have benefited to date.
Why This Program Matters
Despite nature’s abundance, many on Earth lack even basic necessities. Through social assistance and compassionate action, ISKCON provides regular food and shelter to orphans, the visually or speech impaired, and others in need. This effort is much more than food—it’s dignity, care, and hope.
A Sacred Offering, Not Just a Meal
All food distributed is offered to Lord Krishna, making it spiritually purifying. As taught in the Bhagavad Gita, the true enjoyer of all yajnas (sacrifices) is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Offering food with devotion transforms it into prasadam—pure spiritual nourishment.
Since March 2019 – Consistency in Compassion
From its inception in March 2019, this program has never paused. Every day, ISKCON Dwarka delivers meals to the underserved. Corporate groups like Adani Group, Jindal Poly, and KIIT have supported this effort.
Inspired by Divine Vision
Under the inspiration of HH Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj and guidance from ISKCON leadership, President Pradyuman Priya Das reiterates Srila Prabhupada’s mission: “Within 10 km of an ISKCON temple, no one should sleep hungry.”
This humble effort is part of that vision—a call to all Krishna devotees to contribute to a society free of hunger and filled with compassion.
